30th November 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm CET

According to recent estimates, the construction sector accounts for 40% of the energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. Decarbonising the building stock has therefore become one of the strategic priorities of the European Union and is among the main pillars of the European Green Deal.

The HEART (Holistic Energy and Architectural Retrofit Toolkit) project addresses the need for improvement in energy efficiency and sustainability in Europe’s building stock by providing an innovative toolkit that will make existing buildings smarter while reducing energy consumption and costs. HEART’s toolkit includes different components and technologies which cooperate to transform buildings: modular panels for facade insulation, upgraded windows, universal photovoltaic tiles, a cloud platform to monitor and manage energy consumption, smart fan coils for room climate control, a high-efficient water storage tank, battery packs, a hydronic modular heat pump and a multifunctional power controller.

This webinar will provide an overview of HEART technologies and their potential for reducing energy consumption. Participants will learn from the renovation experience of a four-storey building located in Italy and selected as a case study for the installation of the innovative set of solutions developed by the project.

The HEART project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme. Learn more on http://heartproject.eu
