Following two successful online workshops on digitalisation and AI in the energy sector in September 2025, the European Commission, assisted by EUREC, is hosting an additional online workshop focused on AI in the renewables and buildings sectors.

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the energy sector presents a significant opportunity for reduction of costs, decarbonization and energy efficiency. The energy system is becoming more and more complex, with rising electrification, inverter-based renewables, distributed energy resources, more data available and digitalized communications and controls.

This workshop, taking place 6th November 2025 from 9:30-11:30 will focus on the use of AI in the renewables and buildings sectors, with one session dedicated to renewables and the other one to buildings. The European Commission will discuss ongoing work in the matter; all three workshops will inform policy actions of the future Strategic Roadmap for digitalisation and AI in the energy sector.
