European Commission online event “Towards an EU solar energy strategy”

In the context of the preparation of a Communication on an EU solar strategy and the ongoing Open Public Consultation (until 12 April), this high-level event aims to provide a forum for an exchange of views between the main relevant stakeholders. The strategy will analyse the state of play of solar energy across the EU and propose measures to accelerate deployment of solar technologies.

The event starts with an opening session including a keynote speech from the Commissioner for energy, Kadri Simson, followed by 3 thematic roundtables on the below overarching questions, and a closing session

• What demand measures can contribute to accelerate deployment?
• Is the solar energy industrial landscape changing?
• Towards a citizen-centred energy system based on solar?
