As Europe finds itself at a crossroads in the global clean energy race, innovative renewable energy technologies (iRETs) offer a strategic opportunity to strengthen our competitiveness, advance decarbonisation goals, and reinforce technological sovereignty. With the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the proposed EU Competitiveness Fund currently under development, it is critical that iRETs are recognised for their role in securing Europe’s industrial leadership.  

With the attendance of the European Commission, leading stakeholders in the iRETs space (including Airborne Wind Energy, wind energy innovation and integration, PV innovation, deep geothermal, and ocean energy), we will discuss what needs to be done at the EU level from research to deployment to ensure the widespread adoption of iRETs. We will have the chance to: 

• Advocate for targeted EU support through dedicated financial instruments; 
• Showcase European excellence in breakthrough renewable energy technologies; 
• Demonstrate how iRETs align with the Competitiveness Fund, the MFF, and other flagship EU initiatives.
