ETIP PV has published the report “Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda” (SRIA) for Photovoltaics

ETIP PV has published the report “Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda” (SRIA) for Photovoltaics

ETIP PV — of which EUREC is a Secretariat partner — has developed a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) which focuses on solar PV technology as a prominent aspect of the EU’s commitments to its clean energy targets and global sustainability goals. PV technology has already proven to be economically and environmentally competitive but must first overcome certain obstacles in the processes of innovation and manufacturing, integration, and circularity. The SRIA analyses five interlocking challenges of PV research and innovation, topics broadly encompassed under themes of performance enhancement and cost reduction, manufacturing processes, quality and circularity, integration and dual purpose along with public support and the socio-economic transition.

This SRIA Report was developed through a sector-wide consultation and contributions from the European R&I community to identify future R&I priorities and to guide policymakers on the ways to support the development of solar energy in Europe. You can find the full version and a shortened summary of the SRIA document here. For more information on the SRIA, read the ETIP PV press release on its launch (downloadable below).
