Energy valleys are living laboratories for innovative solutions and businesses. Yet local energy success depends on people, not just technologies.

As part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, the REFORMERS project brings together five regions to hear how each each one is evolving within real-world constraints: local policies, stakeholders’ wariness, knowledge gaps and public trust: how Alkmaar (NL) turned business scepticism into collective action by providing practical assistance; how DDS (BE) is addressing challenges as opportunities; how Crete (GR) uses ‘door-to-door’ outreach to move beyond monetary incentives towards true energy democracy; and how Konin (PL) is leading the shift from information to co-decision-making and shared responsibility.
