5TOI project organised a Euro-Med Innovation Week

The 5TOI project organised an innovation week in Beirut, Lebanon, from 24th to 27th April 2018. Several events were organised in this occasion:

• Training seminar on HORIZON2020 and other relevant EU co-funded programmes. Around 25 organisations from Lebanon were trained by European experts on research and innovation funds available from the European Union in the area of water, food and energy.
• Meeting of the NEXUS Think Tank. The 5TOI NEXUS Think Tank is composed of experts from the project partners in the areas of water, food and energy. These experts meet regularly with a view to discussing the interactions between the three areas of energy, food and energy with a view to developing an integrated approach to deal with these challenges, which are particularly heinous in the Mediterranean Partner Countries.
• Innovation day, open to all interested organisations, focused the discussion on fostering water, agri-food and energy using the Nexus approach in the Mediterranean with high-level speeches from partners from the EU and Mediterranean Partner Countries. A brokerage event to bring together organisations from several areas to discuss common project proposals took place afterwards.
• The 5TOI Project meeting took place on the last day of the Innovation Week to take stock of the project’s status, to discuss blocking factors, and to find solutions to moving forward.
