EU budget to be raided for ITER bail-out |

Various reports in the media (EV, BBC) have suggested that the EU’s liability for 1.4 bn EUR of additional costs in 2012-2013 will be met with money diverted from the Competitiveness for Growth and Employment heading of the EU budget. This budget heading funds the Framework Programme for Research, supplying money to renewable energy research and demonstration projects. |
